Our Story
Florida's Best Pools didn't start in 2020. It started in 1989, in a Boca Raton garage, with a Palm Beach County Certificate of Competency stamped Unlimited.
That certificate belonged to Jeffrey F. Balog — Matt's father — and the company he ran for 30 years. From December 1989 through September 2019, Jeffrey serviced South Florida pools the same way he taught his son to: weekly routes, careful chemistry, no shortcuts, and a customer base that mostly never left.
In 2019, Jeffrey handed Matt the reins. Second-generation, raised on the truck, ready to carry it forward.
When Matt partnered with Joe Ford, Ronnie Liddell, and Doug Santiago to build Florida's Best Pools, he didn't bring a résumé. He brought a craft — three decades of it, learned on the route alongside his dad. Different name on the truck. Same Boca zip code. Same standard.

Co-owner Joe Ford also holds a Florida All-Lines Public Adjuster license (3-20, #W026874) through his separate firm Dolphin Claims — useful background when storms hit pool equipment and an insurance claim follows. Florida's Best Pools doesn't handle claims itself; it's simply context for how the operations side of this company gets built.
