Pool Pump Down? We Diagnose Today.
Won't prime, loud noise, leaking seal, tripping breaker, no flow? Most pump calls have a single-component fix. We diagnose with a multimeter and flow meter — not guesswork — before any parts get ordered.

Common Pump Problems We Diagnose Daily.
Pump won't prime
Air leak on suction side, clogged basket, or failing seal. We pressure-test the suction line and isolate the leak in one visit.
Loud / grinding noise
Bearings going out (rumble), debris in impeller (grinding), or air in pump (cavitation hiss). Each has a different fix — we identify which.
Leaking from shaft seal
Mechanical seal worn — common at 5–7 years. Routine part, roughly an hour to install. Don't wait — leaking seal kills the motor next.
Tripping breaker
Failed capacitor, motor windings shorting, or wiring issue. Diagnostic with a multimeter takes 20 min and saves wrong-parts ordering.
Low flow / weak suction
Clogged impeller, bad valve, dirty filter, or failing motor. Flow-rate testing isolates which — we do it before quoting.
Won't turn on at all
Capacitor, timer, GFCI, or motor end-of-life. Most no-start calls = capacitor swap. Some are full motor failures. Diagnostic isolates which.
Repair or Replace?
Here's How We Decide.
Most pool companies push replacement on every call. We don't. Sometimes a single-component fix is right. Sometimes the variable-speed pump pays for itself in electric savings. We tell you which.
Repair makes sense
- Pump under 7 years old
- Single component failure (capacitor, seal, impeller)
- Already a variable-speed pump (worth keeping)
- Repair quote ≤ 35% of replacement cost
Replacement makes sense
- Pump 10+ years old, single-speed
- Multiple symptoms (noise, low flow, leak)
- Repair quote 50%+ of new variable-speed pump
- Florida law requires VS for new install (>1 HP)

Measure First.
Quote Honestly.
The wrong call on a pump = real money wasted on a part that didn't need replacing, or an end-of-life pump "repaired" and dead in six months. Diagnostic discipline saves both.
Multimeter + flow test
We arrive with diagnostic equipment — multimeter, flow meter, pressure gauges. We measure first, talk parts second.
Repair-or-replace decision
If a single component fixes it, we say so. If your pump is a 12-year-old single-speed and a new variable-speed pays for itself in electric savings, we say that too.
Written quote, licensed install
All work quoted in writing before parts get ordered. Installation by our trusted licensed partners. Manufacturer warranty preserved.

Pool Pump Repair
Common questions from Boca Raton homeowners with pump problems.
Both — and we recommend whichever makes financial sense for you. A newer pump with a single-component failure usually gets repaired. A pump at end of life gets replaced with a variable-speed that pays for itself in electric bills. We diagnose first and quote in writing.
