- Florida's Best Pools
- Location:
- Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale — serving Broward & Palm Beach Counties
- Job Type:
- Full Time · W-2
- Pay:
- $25–$30/hour W-2, based on experience and a paid hands-on skills assessment, plus uncapped monthly gross-profit commissions at progressive rates of 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%. Earn another 10% of gross profit on jobs you find and sell yourself.
About the role
Florida's Best Pools is hiring an experienced Pool Repair Technician to diagnose, quote, repair, and install pool equipment from Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale. We have the business to keep you busy: existing customers, equipment issues identified by our route technicians, and inbound repair calls. You'll inspect the full equipment pad on each visit and help homeowners understand what needs attention. The office coordinates your jobs, and Matt Balog provides technical guidance and quality checks. This is a full-time W-2 position for someone with hands-on repair and installation experience.
What you'll earn
- $25–$30/hour W-2, based on experience and a paid hands-on skills assessment
- Uncapped monthly commission with progressive 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% gross-profit tiers, detailed below
- Another 10% of gross profit on jobs you find and sell yourself, including an extra item spotted on a job you're already working
- Mileage reimbursement for business use of your own truck
- 5 paid days off and 6 paid holidays
- Paid CPO and manufacturer certifications
- Parts purchased through our supplier accounts — you don't front the cost
How your commission works
Commission is based on gross profit, not revenue. Gross profit means the collected invoice amount minus our parts cost and any subcontractor labor on that job. These monthly tiers are progressive: each rate applies only to the portion of gross profit within its band.
- First $15,000 in monthly gross profit: no tier commission
- Gross profit over $15,000 through $50,000: 2.5% on that portion
- Gross profit over $50,000 through $100,000: 5% on that portion
- Gross profit above $100,000: 7.5% on that portion, with no cap
- Found-work bonus: another 10% of gross profit on jobs you find and sell yourself — an extra item spotted on an existing job or a lead you bring in. This stacks with the tier commission and applies at every tier, including before the $15,000 threshold. Office-booked calls and route-tech flags do not qualify as self-generated work
- Paid monthly on collected invoices. Photograph the problem and create your quote in Jobber before selling self-generated work. Warranty work and callbacks do not earn commission; a callback for the same issue within 30 days removes that job's gross profit from the bonus calculation. Full written terms are reviewed and signed at hire
Our target: $150,000–$250,000 in monthly revenue
We have the business to keep you busy. Our monthly repair and installation revenue target for this role is $150,000–$250,000, supported by existing customers, route referrals, and inbound calls. The examples below assume all invoices are collected, parts cost 62% of revenue (38% gross profit), no subcontractor labor, and 20% of revenue comes from additional work you find and sell yourself at the same margin. Annual pay assumes you sustain that monthly output for 12 months and earn $25–$30/hour for 2,080 base hours. These are illustrations, not guaranteed earnings; overtime, mileage reimbursement, and other referral incentives are excluded.
| Monthly revenue | Gross profit | Tier commission / month | Extra 10% found-work bonus / month | Total commission / month | Annual base + commission |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $150,000 | $57,000 | $1,225 | $1,140 | $2,365 | $80,380–$90,780 |
| $200,000 | $76,000 | $2,175 | $1,520 | $3,695 | $96,340–$106,740 |
| $250,000 | $95,000 | $3,125 | $1,900 | $5,025 | $112,300–$122,700 |
- At $200,000/month: $76,000 gross profit produces $875 at 2.5% plus $1,300 at 5%. Self-generated work adds $1,520, for $3,695 in total monthly commission
- The 7.5% tier begins above $100,000 in monthly gross profit — approximately $263,158 in monthly revenue at a 38% margin. It is not reached in the examples above
- Your actual bonus depends on job margins and the work you personally find and sell. The extra 10% applies to the gross profit on qualifying jobs, not to all revenue
