Diamond Brite, Pebble, or Tile?

Each finish has trade-offs. Boca pool owners pick based on time-in-house and budget.

Why we're the right fit

The startup protocol is where most plaster jobs fail.

The first 28 days after refill decide whether your fresh plaster etches, scales, stains, or cures clean for 10+ years. Most resurfacing contractors hand you the keys the day they spray the finish — and let your weekly pool guy figure out the chemistry. We don't. We run the full 28-day startup protocol ourselves.

10,000+ pools started across South Florida — Diamond Brite, Pebble Tec, Pebble Sheen, quartz, plaster. The startup window is the highest-leverage 28 days of your renovation.

Renovation Timeline

Consult to Swim — ~30 Days.

Estimated timeline — actual schedule varies by pool size, finish chosen, permit timing, weather, and material lead times. Subject to change.

The make-or-break stretch is the 28-day startup protocol that begins the moment water touches fresh plaster. We handle that ourselves — see our new pool startup service in Boca Raton.

Day 1

On-site consultation

We measure, photograph, document existing surface and tile, and walk you through finish options with samples in-hand.

Days 2–5

Drain + demo + prep

Pool drained to grade, surface chipped or hydroblasted to bond layer. Tile band removed if replacement scoped. Bond coat applied.

Day 5–6

Install

Tile install, then finish (Diamond Brite, Pebble, or plaster) sprayed and trowel-finished. Single-day install once prep is complete.

Day 6–7

Refill day

Pool refills bottom-up to operating level. Startup chemistry begins the moment water touches plaster.

Days 7–30

Startup protocol

Daily brushing, plaster dust removal, no-shock chemistry protocol, careful pH and alkalinity management. We've started 10,000+ pools — done in-house.

Day ~30

Swim + handoff

Final chemistry balance, surface inspection, manufacturer warranty registered, transition to regular weekly service.

Pool resurfacing cost calculator

Enter your interior surface area and finish — get the 2026 Boca Raton / Palm Beach County price band plus the number that actually matters: cost per year of life.

Not sure? Interior area ≈ surface + walls. A typical 15,000-gallon Palm Beach County backyard pool runs ~550–650 sq ft.

The South Florida standard. Trends to the top of its 5–10 yr range with a disciplined 30-day startup.

Estimated 2026 project cost

$13,750$17,250

Diamond Brite (premium quartz) on a 600 sq ft interior, new waterline tile — full project: drain, demo, surface prep, finish, refill, and startup.

Cost per year of life: $1,375$3,450/yr

Sticker price ÷ a 510-year finish life. This is the number to compare finishes on — a higher-sticker pebble job often costs less per year than re-doing plaster twice as often.

⚠ This is a planning band, not a quote. Structural cracks, a failed main drain, plumbing brought to code (VGB anti-entrapment), water features, or a spa change the number.

Most full Palm Beach County resurfacing projects land between $8,000 and $30,000. Very small plunge or spool pools and plaster-only refreshes can come in under that; premium pebble with full tile, coping, and a spa can run above it.
